Uuh, wedding dress!

Wow - we found the fabric for my friend's wedding dress, and I'm so excited about making it!!! :) I can't really post any pictures yet, though..............

BUT I'M EXCITED! ;P Yay! I think it's going to be pretty!

I've just got a new auto-responder thing for Bemygoth.com ,and thought I'd put a 'sign-up-for-my-newsletter' here as well. Then I can send newsletters! fancy that.

Well, I'm considering what I can do with this blog, and I'm considering buying a domain for it, but I think I'll wait... I'll wait and see if it catches on. ;P

I haven't really been taking pictures or prepared for a post entry today, but I thought I'd write, to get my self started again. I've been quite busy with other stuff lately. But now, I'll stop living, and start blogging! he...
Just kidding. ;P

Anyhoo... that's it for now - it's time for bed.

Goodnight, fellow humans!

Ruffles and Stuff

I've been surfing crafty blogs today, and came upon a whole ebook, ready to read, full of tutorials and project you can make. It's called 'Celebrating Moms', and since it was 'embed'able, I thought I'd just share it. It's really nice and inspirational!

Celebrating MOM

It comes from http://www.rufflesandstuff.com by the way. ;P

Things I've Made Lately

I just finished a huuuuuge shawl, which I'm never going to use out side, because it's more like a blanket than a shawl.. ;P It took some time to make, but it was nice.
I followed a crochet recipe, but I didn't use the same yarn or needle, and therefore it became a million times bigger than it should have been. I think it's about 3 meters wide and 2 meters tall... IT' S HUUGE!!!!!!!!!

I hung it on some hooks we had in our ceiling, and it fills the whole room. hehe..

And then afterwards, I knitted a hat - also from a recipe, but I actually followed the measurement now..... But the hat is too small! *sigh* I really really liked the pattern (it's from a book called 'Luxury Yarn One-Skein Wonders), and I might consider trying to make it again, but somewhat bigger. It looks like a hat for a small girl, really... Well, see for yourself:
It won't really do me any good in the winter.... *sighs again*.... Well, I'll just knit some more. And I like knitting, so everything's fine.

Decorated Mousepad

I just made something that my boyfriend absolutely despises. hihihi... ;P
But I find it cute and funny.
It's a decorated mousepad. Well - the mousepad existed, I just decorated it with fabric, lace and ribbon.

It works really fine. :)
The mousepad I had was round. I just used it as a pattern to cut out the fabric of my choice. The I used a glue stick to glue it on. (I thought it would be the easiest, and less bumpy). But I'm not sure it'll last forever. We'll see - it works for now.

The I ruffled some lace with my Pfaff ruffler foot. And glued it on the edge with a glue gun.
Then I ironed the satin ribbon into shape, so it wouldn't curl all over the place. (I actually didn't think it was possible, but satin ribbon is quite flexible, when you iron it. yay). I glues that on too with a glue gun, and lastly I made a rose, and glued it on too.

It was very easy to make. So now I have my very own girly girly mousepad. :)

Healthy Buns - The Ones You Eat

I really like bread with a lot of grain, because it tastes better than just white bread, and it's a lot healthier and it'll keep you full for a longer time. :)
I have modified a bun recipe, and both me and Bjarke have grown quite fond of these buns. We eat them in the morning and as lunch with any kind of spread you like. :)

Here's the recipe:

16 healthy buns

Make the dough before you go to bed, because it's supposed to raise for approximately 8 hours.

You'll need:

  • 100 g 5-grain mix. (contains: split wheat grains, split rye grains, shelled sesame seeds, linseed and sunflower seeds)
  • 100 g split wheat grains
  • 200 g graham flour
  • 200 g durum flour
  • 300 g wheat flour
  • 7,5 dl cold water
  • 35 g yeast
  • a teasp. salt
Mix the flours and grain together with salt and yeast in a big bowl with a hand mixer. Mix the water in and mix for 5 minutes. It should be quite sticky and wet but not liquid.
Cover the bowl with cellophane and put it in the refrigerator. Let it stay the night. :)

In the morning, turn on the oven on 275 degrees Celcius, take another smaller bowl, and fill it with nice tepid water, and take out the bowl of dough from the fridge. Now make 16 buns by dipping your hands in the water and grab a portion of the dough and making it round. :) Repeat.

Wait till the oven is ready and put in the buns. Roast for 8 minutes, and turn the oven down to 225 degrees Celcius, and bake for another 15 minutes.

I have a fan oven, but I think a regular oven will do just as well. :)

Well, now they're done, and you can go ahead and eat healthy for a couple of days. You can put them in the freezer as well, as long as you warm them in the oven afterwards.

Some sleep improvement

I've been sleeping an awful lot lately, and I seem to take it a bit too seriously.. sort of.. I mean, I don't have to get up at any time, other than my own specified 'I want to get up now'-time, so I don't understand why I am being so fuzzy at night about bed time.
I might be a bit concerned about Bjarke, because he has to go to school at 8.25 every day, and that might be why I get tired early. I get up about 10 or 11 am, so I needn't to go to bed too early. *sigh*
So after some lurking on facebook, I ran into a random comment about sleep, and someone had posted a link to an article about becoming an early riser in Steve Pavlina's blog in response. I red it and became very inspired to try and become one. Well, I've only just read the post today, so I'll have to start trying from tomorrow.
So I'm basically just going to go to bed when I'm tired, and then get up every morning, say, around 6 o'clock.
It seems pretty unnatural, because I've always been a "night raven", and I always get creative during the late hours. So it'll definitely be a challenge for me.
I sent the article to Bjarke, and he read it enthusiastically, and went on reading about 'polyphasic sleeping', and he's going to try that out. If he succeeds and keeps being healthy and stuff, I might try it out as well. :)
The 'polyphasic sleeping' is about only having to sleep 2-3 hours every 24 hours, spread out on 6-7 naps every 3-4 hours. And each nap shouldn't be more than 30 minutes.
Steve Pavlina has had some pretty amazing results, and I must admit it is tempting to try. But I think I'll do some disciplinary foot-work first by learning to get up every morning at a specific time. Then I might consider the other. :) Because I find it really really intriguing that you have like 21-22 hours every day you can use, rather than just my normal 14-15 hours or so (I sleep much). And I always complain about how little time we have...
I'm starting to convince myself to try it.... but I think I'll just stick with the early riser-thing for now. :) I'll wait and see how Bjarke holds up. He's taking a nap right now.

Creative Weekend, New Chairs and Homemade Ice Cream

I've been wanting to write many times, and put a lot of pictures lately, but I'm in the process of cleaning up my pictures, so I haven't really transferred pictures from my camera to my computer for a while. Now that is to change, though. :)

I've been wanting to show you a picture of what 4 girls and a guy have accomplished in one weekend. We have been really creative and productive! ;P
I helped a new friend of mine with some sewing. She hadn't really sewn before, and went home quite happy. Yay! It has been my most productive and creative weekend ever! And I was exhausted afterwards, but in a nice way. :) I think you really, like, squeeze the creative juices out of your brain along with your energy after such a weekend.

And we've gotten new chairs today, so I can sit here all the time now without hurting my back too much (and my bum.... ).
Here's what we had before:
Bjarke had had them for over 7 years or something.... *sigh*
So here's the new arrivals... iiih
They look really promising! :) mmm.
And:
TADAAA!!!!!!!!! This is what we sit in now! aaaahhh! It's really comfy. Now I have to convince myself to go to bed, just because I don't want to leave this chair. ;P

And just to brag a bit... I've made my first homemade ice cream today, an I must admit it's YUMMY! It's really delicious! Made out of Greek yoghurt, blueberries, strawberries, a lemon, powdered sugar and some chocolate. MMMM!
It tastes like a really tasty sorbet ice... mmmm!!! :)
Well, just wanted to share a little. Have to go to bed really. Need to share more good recipes, I think. :)

But for now goodnight - have to go to work tomorrow.

Uuh, new eyelashes!

I have just been a naughty girl an bought 50 pairs of fake eyelashes via alibaba.com! Wow! :) I paid $10,31, which only could get me 1 pair here in Denmark, so I'm quite thrilled. Now they should arrive in 7 to 20 days, so I'll be waiting with anticipation! Yay!

Here's a snapshot I took from the website:
Now I won't have to be all careful with them. :) I'm so happy!

Blueberry And White Chocolate Muffins

I went to visit a friend of mine for the first time today. It was rather nice. :)
We watched 4 episodes of 'WitchBlade', surfed a bit on the internet, and played around with photoshop. It was a really nice visit.
When I got home, I made muffins. Sort of secretly, because I only wanted Bjarke to see them after they were finished. It was blueberry and white chocolate muffins - inspired by our (now unfortunately discontinued) favourite chocolate... white chocolate with blueberries... mmmm!!!
And I took a picture of my creation (still learning to take pictures of everything... ;P)
They sort of look like rye bread on the outside, but I think it might have to do with the blueberry juice... :) They were really really tasty, yum!
Bjarke ate two, and he's blaming me for his sugar rush... hehe... I'm glad he likes them. ;P

Nail Polish

I just painted my nails......
I woke up around 5.30 am, lay in bed, tried to sleep some more, but couldn't, so I got up around 6 o'clock, and started doing my hair, make-up, and I painted my nails. :)
I'm going to work at 9.00, so I felt I had good time - I even had time to take pictures of my nails, and post a little blog post here - yay. :)

I must admit I have become very fascinated by VioletLeBeaux homepage, and the things she does. So I'm trying out a lot of things in her tutorials - such as nail for example. Se had a lot of pictures of 'transitional nail polishing', and I tried it - I just covered it with glitter afterwards. I think it's cool.

Ta-daa! :)

Getting On With My Blogspace

I just wanted to add a picture of my new 'inspiration board'. Also inspired from VioletLeBeaux.com. Although made a bit 'darker' in style. ;P
I've printed our pictures of things I want in the future, so that I can maintain focus when I am about to lose my way. ;P
I think it's really pretty. I'll make another one for my sewing space, I think - I just need to buy a cork board, because this one is just wood covered with fabric, so you can't pin anything on it.

I am truly enjoying making everything prettier. Yay! It makes me happy.

Creating A Blogspace

I know I said that I would wait till I could get some before and after pictures, but I just wanted to show you what I've done for now.. he, can't wait. ;P
I have a mini table for my computer screen, and it's really not pretty, so I put some fabric on..
Here it is as it was:
And here it is as it is now:
I'd say it's a lot prettier now. :)

Here's a picture of my 'blogspace' as it was:
As you can see it's not that inspiring, so I thought it would help with some decorating. And it's helping already, although I'm not finished.
I'm going to do some more decorating today. It's going to be prettyyyy.  Yay

Shirt Inspired By Knitted Neckwarmer

A couple of weeks ago I knitted a neckwarmer (I know it's not really season yet, but I just needed a small project, that I could finish pretty quickly). The pattern came from an Etsy Shop - Although it was free. :) The link is:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/18297293/pif-victorian-neckwarmer-knitting
And I really really liked the outcome! :) And that neckwarmer was the first piece of knitting I ever blocked, and the effect was amazing! :) I'm definitely blocking when I can!
I used my iron with steam and it worked really well.

Here's a picture of it.
I'm using it this winter - it's so pretty! :)

I really liked the button part, which I decided should be at the side, and I laid awake one early early morning and thought of a design for a shirt - I only knew that it should have buttons at the neck like this neckwarmer. But unfortunately I have a pretty... um... big chest, and turtlenecks don't look good on me. So I figured that I could make a faux neckline, and still get a tutleneck shirt with buttons and all. Yay, And here's what came to be:

I think I'll be wearing that shirt alot. :)

I've been working with my 'blogspace' as Violet from VioletLeBeaux.com calls it. I've put fabric around the mini table that my screen rests on, and made a note board'ish thing with fabric, lace and plastic gems. It's really pretty ;P
I've just been doing TONS of stuff today, so it's pretty late now - just thought I'd start sharing. I've been taking a lot of pictures of my new creations that I'd like to show you, but I think I'll wit till I finish my blogspace, so I can show some 'Before/After' pictures. Yay.. It nice getting things done! And I haven't cried today - which is a good thing I suppose.

Uuh, I also finished a skirt today. :) And made cookies... and cleaned the house, and washed the dishes. :) Yes, I've been a busy bee. Aah, I can sleep soundly in a couple of minutes... mmm :)

Goodnight for now - I'll be back tomorrow.

Epiphany!

I just realised what blogging is!!!! hahahahaaaa! (I know it's silly - but sometimes your brain just does something weird, you know)

Blogging is just like living your life the best way you can - doing stuff you like and find interesting, and then you write about that... your life! Wow.... *sits back and stares amazed out into the nothingness*

New Layout

I find it hard to become truly really satisfied with a layout that is already made. And I keep getting inspired of other blogs I see, and get sort of envious. I don't think it's good, because I waste a lot of time fixing the layout and stuff.

Well, it might be because I change my style all the time too. One day I'm in mood for pink, and another day I'm in the mood for green and orange, and yet another day for black... *sigh*...

It can be difficult being me.

Well - yesterday I changed the layout for this new one, made by Lauren at Nymphont.com. I spent hours looking for a new layout that I thought I'd be happy with, and this is what I chose. :) Thank you, Lauren!

I've decided to delete my old twitter account, because I made it for 'business reasons' 1½ year ago, and got tons of followers and followed tons myself. But as I didn't really use it, I thought it would just be a nuisance trying to keep track of all the people I followed now.  So I made a new one, and thought that I'll try to learn it anew, and only follow interesting people and people I know. :)

I'm looking more and more on other blogs, and I realize that I'm a real newbie at this. hehe. Well, I do write about my life and stuff, but it should be interesting, yes? Well, I guess I'll just read on, and learn by doing. My goal is to write a post a day, but I won't get my expectations too high - I'll just disappoint myself... :) So I'll write as much as I feel like - Yes - That sounds better, and more realistic.

I'd like to show pictures as well, and perhaps make some tutorials. :) Well, I'll just take it one day at a time, and see what happens.

First time up at 10 am...

I haven't really been able to get up in the morning last week or this week. I've been kind of 'low'... But I'm working on it. Talked with Bjarke yesterday about me not coming outside enough. Because I usually walked a lot, but now that I'm not going to school or anything, I don't really go out and walk.
So I'll go more out, just to walk. :) That should help.
Today Bjarke woke me up at 10 am by calling from school. So I actually got up today, hooray! :)

Anyhoo - I got a picture of my friend and her new bags, that I made.
It was a nice birthday party she had, and she got a lot of nice gifts. :)
It was just really nice seeing her again, really.

I've also just finished the ugliest knitted socks! :) I haven't made socks since I was a kid, so it was a bit of a trial, but fun. ;P I'm actually wearing them right now, because it's become a bit colder, and it's raining outside...
But they are truly hideous... hehe, but in a good way I'd say. ;P

Holiday over. aaahh! :)

Finally the holidays are over. Knowing that I was getting the next ½ year off, I've been doing too much these holidays. Seen a lot of family-in-law, and friends, and been too much out in weekends. ;P
Today I'm going to my friends birthday, where me and my boyfriend will sleep over (because it's pretty far away) until tomorrow.
I'm looking forward to it, but I'm also looking forward to going home, and relax the next week. :)
Bjarke (my boyfriend) has started school, so I have daytime for myself - which is just what I need, I think! :) I'm not completely used to it yet, but I think the time will be used for creative 'thinking' and 'acting' ;P
I've finished the Neck Corset Tutorial for BeMyGoth.com, but we just need to find a way how to sell it. ;P I think we're starting out with paypal.
Here's a look at the neck corset:
I'm not sure about the fabric of this particular piece, but then again - it's just been used for the tutorial.

I like the one on the former picture better. ;P

I've started making some bags - I made some for my friend (for her birthday), so I've had them wrapped, but I'll take pictures when she has unwrapped them. :) Forgot to take pictures...

Well - I'm going to get ready 'for departure', so this is it for now. Hopefully I'll be here more often, now that I have the time. I just need to learn to get up in the morning. ;P

See ya

Enjoying the vacation

I've been more places this months than I've been the whole of this year. :) Well just near home, but still around. I went to Roskilde Festival, and then afterwards visited Bjarke's parents for a couple of days, and then we went to Bjarkes brother's family in-law and lastly we went to Bjarke's brother and girlfriend. And now.... we're home, and time just doesn't stand still.
I can really feel that I have more surplus (can I use this word... I used a web translator to find it).... Anyway..
I feel that I am more motivated to do things I like, now that I took leave from the school. I'm not in a hurry any more - and I seem to get things done. :) I'm almost done with our first paid tutorial at BeMyGoth.com, and it's going to be awesome. Now I can't wait to make the next. ;P
I've started running 3-4 times a week, and it feels great. At the same time I'm counting calories to lose some more weight. I'm doing pretty great at the moment.

The paid tut is a pattern and a tutorial of a Neck Corset. Something like this....

I've made a pattern befor, but I made a new one, and I like this one a lot better! It really fits nicely now.
I just love creating things!!! :)

Ooh - When I were at Roskilde Festival I totally fell in love with this band - Bonaparte. They're a bunch of people just having fun - it seems - on stage, and I just love the music! It's silly enough for me. Check this out...

I must admit I miss going to concerts now.. I miss feeling the music. :) Guess I'll just have to make some money, so I can go and pursue concerts, wherever they appear. Yeah... that's what I'll have to do.

End Of School Fashion Show

Yaay, summer vacation! :)
We just finished our school with a fashion show today, and I think it went pretty well. :)
I'm now (or after tomorrow) officially on 'leave'.. isn't that what you call it. I'm taking half a year off, to get on top, and to work on my own things, like websites and own clothing and all that. ;P
I'll just post a couple of pictures of what we've been showing.
Yes, this is me, in my silly dress. The theme was 'the past meets the future'. And in my head it was something like a vistorian dress meeting the future, where we have to recycle everything, including clothing and stuff, so it's made of lots of leftover fabrics and plastic and stuff. It was fun to make - but not very nice to wear, because I had put plastic pieces at the neck.... And when you're nervous on a hot stage, you start to .... sweat... and plastic on hot skin... blahhh... hehe - well, I've learned my lesson there.
This dress was made as a project with 1st and 2nd semester working together. The theme was 'Dinner With The Queen'. So we all made sort of princessy dresses.
The point was that each group had 300 DKR, which is about $50 to buy all our materials. So the pink dress was made of bed linen and plastic bags. The other dresses were made out of old jeans, bought at a second hand shop, more plastic bags, old table covers, old pieces of fabric. It was a fun project. And most of all, we learned to work with each other. :)
This dress was also made with the theme 'past meets the future'. The girl here was inspired by Moulin Rouge meeting Star Wars. I thought that was awesome! ;P

There are tons more pictures, and they are published at my facebook profile here.

My boyfriend and I are pretty busy preparing for Roskilde Festival, but when we're back, we'll be constantly on the net, working on our websites. It's going to be awesome! More tutorials will be made for BeMyGoth.com and the layout will probably be altered (again) as well. ***we'll never be satisfied*** hehe....
Anyhoo - that's it for now... goodnight you. :)

Tuesday, June 8, 2010

Wow, it's June now

Wow - time flies really fast!
I'm almost done with this semester at school, and I'm really looking forward to the summer holidays! I'm going to Roskilde Festival with Bjarke and some friends - it's going to be awesome!!! ;P

After Roskilde, I'll have so much more time for you! For being creative, and making stuff! That'll be awesome! I'm looking forward to being sort of free. :)
Anyhoo - right now I haven't much to say - just thought I'd 'stop by and say hi'. :)

Talk to you soon

Planning

Oh, my boyfriend and I are planning big things with our internet existence! :)

You might know our site BeMyGoth.com - we're planning on a complete make-over.. And we're not doing it ourselves. We really want it up and running, and frankly, we've found ourselves to be unable to do the job properly, so we're hiring someone to do it for us. And hopefully it'll be so great that we'll see some ROI. ;P That would be SWEET!

I've had a period with illness (again) and I blame the lack of D-vitamin in my body. It causes me to be infected very easily... But now I'm on lots and lots of D-vitamin, so hopefully I won't get so easily sick in the future. ;P

I haven't made anything the last couple of days, but the creativity is springing up again, whilst getting better - so soon I'll be sewing again. (and I have an assignment in school - so I'll have to sew anyway).

Just thought I'd blabber a bit, since it had been a while.

Have a nice Sunday. :)

Back To Life

I'm finally done with the suit I've been working on. I'm having my first day off in a week or so from sewing. *phew* I'm really happy with the outcome, and I hope the one who'll own the suit, will like it as well. :)

Here are some pictures:

The Jacket

The Dress from the side.

A small pocket hidden in the seam. ;P

And a matching purse. :)

I rather enjoy making bags and purses - I think I'm going to more about that. :)

It has taken me about 50 hours to make all these things. I think I can say for sure, that I won't be a tailor, as such. I mean - I like sewing for other people, but sometimes it's just too hard work. I think I'd rather make my own collections or sell unique designs. I think that would be lots of fun. :)

Working

*phew*
Being busy is a tough one.
I'm busy sewing the suit for my boss, and tomorrow is the big "new bishop-day" at church. Pretty intense. :)

I should like to show more pictures in this blog, so I'm going to practise taking pictures and upload them (after tomorrow and after I've finished the suit). It's going to take the rest of today and tomorrow, I'm sure. :) And then I'll be some more on the internet as well.... and I really need to go out and exercise too... phew - being sick is really not good for you health or your belly...hehe.. I'll start skating, yay!

Actually I skated to work today - it was rather fun. I'm looking forward to gaining more balance though. Can be hazardous near other people...

Anyhoo - just an update.... ;P

Course Of Life

I'm kind of deciding where my life is leading me... it's a very interesting place to stand - where I am right now. I feel like I'm at a crossroad, and whichever road I take will lead me somewhere unexpected.

Yes... that's about it for now. :)

I'll keep you updated on which way I'll go.

New Layout & Blabber

I thought I'd just motivate myself by searching for something more lively. And I think I found what I wanted (for now). :)

I've just begun the creation of a dress and a jacket for a person I know - I'm pretty excited about it. And I'll definitely post pictures when I'm done.

(I'll just post a couple of updates here...)

I lost my hat.... :/ And I didn't get to take a picture of it - but I'll make a new one. It was a bit too big anyway.

I've bought a skateboard - so now and in the future I'll be known as the skating seamstress. hehe...

I've taken a blood test at the doctors, and they say I lack D3 vitamins, so I've just started taking D3 vitamins yesterday. If I didn't the result might be fragile muscles and bones when I get older - and it's causing tiredness... I'd like to avoid that. ;P

We've got a new assignment at school - we're to make a show dress, and the theme is: the past meets the future. I'm thinking old-skool designs with plastic materials? maybe... haven't decided yet.

I'm considering taking a leave from my school... about half a years leave, so I can concentrate on this. On the internet. I'm getting a bit tired of not having any money.... *sighs*

I'm going to sing for the Queen of Denmark on Sunday. A new bishop is being ... what's it called... "put in". The old bishop resigned and a new one is taking his place... :) So our choir will sing for our Queen. woohoo. ;P

Just thought I'd write something again to get the feeling of writing in a blog again - it's been a while. ;P

Missed School Today

I missed school today, unfortunately - but I just didn't have the energy or motivation to get out of the door this morning. AND I woke up too late. I guess I still have a bit of depression in me... I've been a little sad today - but it didn't stop me from thinking creative.
In my sadness I wound all my ribbons onto cardboard pieces, and it took about 4-5 hours, phew!!! I'll post some pictures of my organized stuff when I feel done (which I suppose I'll never be, hehe).

Yesterday I made a hat, while watching movies, it was rather nice. I'll post a picture as well, when I have taken one.

And this evening I've been working on the construction of a dress for my boss (who has ordered a dress with me, yay). She's coming over tomorrow to see if she likes it, and to fit it - and then we're going shopping for fabrics. :) I'll definitely post a picture of the finished dress, when I'm done! I'm pretty excited about this dress.

I've started to search for other creative blogs, and it's awesomely inspiring! Hopefully I'll be as inspiring as well one day. There are so many creative people out there, and so many things one can create, wow! I'd like to live longer, so I might be able to learn just a tiny part of everything.. *sigh*.

Anyway - I'm feeling better now that it's evening, but I'm quite tired, so I'll be off to bed for now. I'll write some more tomorrow and post some pictures.

Sleep tight! <3

Coco Avant Chanel

I have just watched Coco Avant Chanel, and I find it very inspiring.
I just love watching movies where you follow a character (fiction or non), who start off with nothing and just grows to be a successful person in whatever he or she finds interesting. I've always admired people who live their dream, and don't comprise their happiness for anything. That's exactly what I want to do (and I am trying). And I still do admire these people, and hopefully one day, I'll be one of them too. :)

I just learned that she was the woman who got women out of the corset - I am considering being the one who puts them back in! ;P I just love what the corset does to your waist, it's beautiful!

I'm definitely having my own fashion house one day. ;P

But today, I'm trying to relax some more, for tomorrow I have a busy day creating a pattern for a costumer of mine. :) So I'm now going to watch another movie and probably knit or sew something small.

Yesterday

Yesterday I had a date with my boyfriend, and we were not allowed to turn on our computers (because we've done that a lot lately ;P). It went pretty well - we were out in the city, got a cup of cocoa and window shopped a bit, but because of rain, we decided to go home a bit early. I read two chapters aloud from the first Harry Potter book (we're halfway though, yay), and "de-froze" our freezer, because of all the ice that was stuck inside - and we made a lot of food. :)

So generally I'd say it was a nice day without computers - but here I am, 7 o'clock in the morning, writing this. (I think I'm addicted to the internet, really..... )

Anyway - I don't have much to say for now, other than we've got a new tutorial up at BeMyGoth.com An Elegant Dice Bag - created by Bjarke - it's awesome.

Indie Jacket

I can't believe how much I'm getting done! Today I went to work, and said to myself that when I got home I should relax and read a book or watch a movie, but I went on looking in my pattern magazines and found a jacket I wanted to make, and I had some fabric that I could use, so I went on and began sewing.
And I've now got a new jacket.... *phew* - I wonder when I'll ever get to relax? Tomorrow perhaps.. ;P

Here's a couple of pictures of the jacket..

The front - it says Choko-late ;P

A lady and golden swirls on the back. :)

The details on the back. I must admit that I'm quite satisfied.
But I seriously need to relax soon!

I'll do that by sleeping now. It's getting late, and I have to get up early to go to school. :) Goodnight to you!

Indie Goth Skirt Tutorial

I did it. I made another tutorial for BeMyGoth.com. An Indie Goth Skirt as I like to call it. Only because of the fabric I guess. I used the same fabric as I used for my sweet coin purse. :) So now I can match myself, hehe.

If you want to see it, click the picture below:

(Can't seem to use the picture as a link, so go on and press the text link here above ;P)

I just love getting new clothes - it makes me all warm and fuzzy on the inside. I know what I'll wear on Monday.

I Walked 9.15 km

That's 5.67 miles... :) It was a lovely walk, and as I can see outside, I got the best of the sun - it's getting cloudy.
Just wanted to tell you that. :)

Now I'm off to eat some food and figure out what to make...

Yaro Starak - One Of My Heroes In Blogging

I just thought I needed to add this to my posts, because, then I won't forget myself. ;P

Yaro has written a gazillion good articles about great blogging, so if you're new to blogging or just want some great advice, I recommend that you go visit his site at Entrepreneurs-Journey.com.

What I wanted to post here was one of his articles with advice about writing your blog, how to express the true you. I find it pretty important for me to do that as quickly as possible, so I can get a consistent flow over time, and not suddenly change my writing style and become a different person. Hopefully I'm not doing too bad now - at least I THINK I'm writing with my own voice - just need some writing practise to make it a bit more interesting. ;)

Anyway - here's the article:
Quote begins:

Bloggers: Are You Writing In Your True Voice?

I’ve been working with a private client recently to help with her blog (hello Pat from GolfGurls.com), and through our time together she reminded me of a common challenge many new bloggers face.

Perhaps this is not so much a mistake as an adjustment that needs to be made as you begin the process of establishing your blog identity.

Many bloggers start out by applying a frame to how they think about their blog. This frame affects your writing style, causing you to feel the need to project a certain image with your words. This is a false image placed on top of who you really are, often applied because you believe it necessary to ensure you come across as professional. You want to make the “right” impression.... "  Read More...

Quote ends...

I hope it's legal to put a short quote of his article in my own blog... well, it's done, and hopefully you'll get something out of it as well - he writes really well! ;P

Second Day Of My Blogging Life

I actually feel really inspired to keep this going. It feels like the right kind of blog to me. Hooray for that. :)

It's 10 am and I've just had a shower - I feel particularly well today, so hopefully my sickness is going away! I'm heading out for a long walk, because I haven't been walking since Wednesday *iiiik*! Usually I walk every day. Either to and fro school or just a walk near my home. Today'll be a long one, I think.

I'm just recharging the battery of my mp3-player, cause it's been a while, and I'd like to have music all the way. :)

I don't really have any plans today, but I'm thinking of creating things (again). I have an idea for a simple skirt with elastic band at the waist, so it should be really easy. And with ruffles at the bottom. I think I'll make one today - and perhaps make it a tutorial to put up on our BeMyGoth.com site. That would be nice, because then I wouldn't feel like I have wasted another day. :)

I've actually become better to not waste days, you know.
Often in 'my earlier life', I've felt that I've wasted a lot of time just doing nothing - like watching movies hours on end or just sitting at the internet, not really searching for anything or just being really really - how shall I say it - *Blagggrh*, I think is the best description. Days have just gone buy where I've sat and done nothing to improve my life whatsoever - but now I've become better at that.

I've had a couple of periods in my life where I've felt like I do now (self-improving), but this time it feels real, and really good. I've had a pretty big 'downtime' for about 8-9 months, and I've sought help now, and it just feels great to do something actively to help yourself.

I started writing in a diary as well, what I felt, and what I thought was the problems ,and then came up with solutions, and I try to live by that, you know. I'm learning from my mistakes - but I must say it's really difficult to change your thinking-patterns and your habits ,and that's where I'm going. *phew* - but it's wonderful, though. I like improving myself to be a better and happier person.

One day I'll be the happiest person alive, and I'll make things happen, when I want them to! :)

This is me on one of my former walking trips.

Creativity Whilst Sick

I am currently under the influence of a virus, so I have to stay home and drink a lot of tea, avoid getting cold and stuff, but I just can't seem to be still. I have a restless kind of nature if something tries to take my creativity away, such as an illness.
So I have made a lot of small things, that are not too complicated or exhausting (for an ill person). I found inspiration on other blogs with tutorials, so I'll just link to them. :)

This is a bowl made of 2 pieces of fabric and some interfacing. It was super easy and took no more than 15 minutes to make. Awesome if you're having a get together and don't have enough bowls for your sweets or cookies. ;P
Link to the tutorial at Poppy Lanes Blog Here.

Here's a mini purse made of paper - it's really cute, and you can use it for presents. :) I found it by searching paper boxes on google, but I don't remember where it was, so I'll just link to another site where you can fin the pattern. :) At Card Inspired By Maria Bell

I've always wanted to make one of these. Don't remember where I got the 'pattern', but it's real easy. Just ask me if you want me to show you how to do it. :)

Here's a little flower I made. It's the first thing I made yesterday, I think. Real easy and super cute. the tutorial is here at: Bayou Bags

And a more extravagant flower. it's just as easy, but takes a bit longer, because of the number of petal (16). I love it, and you can use it for anything! embellish your hair, your bag, you dress, your hat... anything. It's really really cute. Link to the tutorial site: Sew Itzy Titzy

This is so cute as well, but I think I put the buttons too close to each other. It's supposed to be a bowl of some sort, but it has a rather narrow opening, don't you think? Well, I think in this way, it would be perfect for earrings or rings or other jewellery. :)
Link to the tutorial at My Little Mochi

And at last - just for show, I'll show you a picture of what I've made the last two days. :)

I really enjoy creating cute and beautiful things. And as I mentioned before, some of them are not very goth, so they'll be reserved for this blog. :)

We've Got Two Lovely Cats!

I thought I just had to tell you of our little family. It consists of My boyfriend, Bjarke, me and two lovely cats called Bøf and Byld (it means Beef and Boil). We know, they are odd names, but they suit them really well. :) And they respond to their names, so we're all happy. Here's Bøf:

Isn't she cute? (she on catnip)

And Here we have our lovely Byld:

One of my first pictures of our cats with our new camera, which by the way is a Nikon D3000. It's really nice and user friendly, if you're new to digital SLR cameras, which we are. :)

I just caught him looking at me, while sitting in the window. Less than a second later he was off again - phew, I got really lucky with this shot, I think. ;P

They are siblings, and have a 'normal house cat' for a mum and either a Norwegian woods cat or a Maine Coon for a father. They are both over 5 kgs, and hopefully they'll grow even bigger. ;P

My Boyfriend And I In Edinburgh

This is my boyfriend.
He's sitting in a wonderful pub in Edinburgh, Scotland, called Jekyll & Hyde Pub. Very stylish, with dark furniture and odd glass jars everywhere.

We were in Edinburgh this February, and I'd just love to go back NOW! I must admit that I have a thing for Britain, and I'd like to spend a few of my years there! :)

Now this is I, also in Edinburgh.

The only thing that lacks is some more decent fabric stores. It seems that the Edinburgh people are not much for sewing. i don't know. I guess I weren't there long enough to really learn what was where. We found the goth shops though. ;P

Well - just another post to learn the blogger-thing.

The Spinning Top

Just seeing how this works. I've actually been an Amazon.com associate for a while, I just haven't gotten to the selling Amazon stuff yet. ;P Perhaps I can recommend stuff to you guys, when I find something really cool, and then it can only be a win win situation. I get paid a little and you get awesome stuff.

Graham Coxon's album, The Spinning Top is one of his best, I must admit. I have a very personal connection to it, because it has helped me out of a depression. I've been taking long walks while listening to his songs, and they've helped me feel happiness and warmth, when I was down.

I'm feeling a lot better now, thank you. :)

Graham Coxon

Graham Coxon is one of my biggest heroes. It's weird really, but it's true.

As I've mnentioned before, I come from Greenland, and you haven't got many opportunities there, unfortunately. But one time, in 1998, I think it was... or 1997... I don't remember.... a couple of years back, Blur came to Nuuk, the capital of Greenland to play a gig. I don't think I had ever been to a concert before in my life, and I was awestruck by these gorgeously British gentlemen, that I had to just own all their music and create an altar of posters at home (I was a teenager then, so it was ok... ;P).

And because of blur I wanted to play music myself, so I picked up the guitar and started practising - I've never become really good though, because I don't have the discipline to keep practising. But I started playing music, played a bit in a band or two, went to music school, and started studying music at the University in Aalborg, Denmark. I mean - it came from that time, where these four gentlemen came and visited Greenland. They planted a musical seed in me, which came a pretty long way, I must say. :)

It's a pity they're not really together any more, and it sort of bothers me that I didn't get to see them at one of their reunion gigs.... Luckily that Damon and Graham are still having a musical life, YAY! I am (hopefully) to see Gorillaz at Roskilde Festival this year! And I'm definitely hoping to see more of Graham Coxon when (if) he starts touring again.

Anyway... more blabber - it's really nice. I feel like I'm talking to a friend here, and I can just talk and talk and talk without my friend getting tired of me talking. In real life I'm a really quiet person, so I guess I just have a lot to say, when I finally have the chance. :) The good thing is, that you can just stop reading if you thinks it's boring - but I can just keep writing and writing and writing... Hooray for blogging!

Right - what I really wanted with this post was to share video - since I am completely and utterly in love with Graham and his music, I'd like to share one of his songs from his latest album: The Spinning Top' with you: In The Morning

Coin Purse Tutorial

I'll just try to make a couple of different posts here,to see how it works out. :) And to get a bit of content in place. Sometimes it just seems more interesting to work on something which is already running (when it comes to websites at least) - so I'll try to start this blog pretty quickly, and I can't guarantee it won't be a mess, so bear with me in my early attempt here. Thanks. :)

Anyways, I think I've made an ok tutorial for a coin purse at BeMyGoth.com, so I'll just share it here as well.

Press the picture, and it'll lead you to the tutorial - hope you enjoy it.

Wow, it's actually really nice to just have to worry about the content here - at BeMyGoth, it's all coding, because we've made it from scratch in notepad... This is genuinely user friendly. AWESOME! :)
